  Hello. A friend of mine and I are like looming for an apartment to live in. We really liked this apartment by the looks of their website but after reading all the bad reviews, not so sure now. Seeing too many reviews about management, dirty apartments, bugs, everything breaking, and etc. I might be taking my money elsewhere

  My roommate and I have lived in Avana for about a year and a few months and recently resigned our lease. We came from a previous apartment complex that had complete disregard for their residents and coming to Avana was a breath of fresh air! Upon moving in, Nicole came and asked us if there was anything that needed attending to and was able to fix minor things for us to make us more at home. The maintenance men are very prompt and polite when it comes to filling requests. They will respond to your major requests extremely quickly. The management is wonderful as well. They are very polite and quick to help. The office staff is amazing as well. Mavicar has helped me on multiple occasions and has been extremely kind and always wanting to make sure we are being taken care of. If they are with a client, there are couches and coffee provided. Overall, this is such a wonderful, clean, and safe place to live.

  Horrible!! Don't live here!! Over priced and ladies in the office are super rude! Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else! Over priced and they charge you for things that don't even get done. Every month had a pest control fee and only got notices TWICE that they were coming in. During the summer the pool is always closed, opened maybe twice a week. Always cleaning and shocking the pool. Management doesn't care about you at all and is super rude and inconsiderate when talking to them. My dog was using the restroom and I didn't have a baggy to pick up poop. I was heading to get one and my dog did his thing. Got yelled at and said I needed to pick it up. Told the front desk lady that I knew what my job was and was heading to get a bag to clean it up. Told her there wasn't any baggies in any of the deals next to my building or close too and she said she'd put in a request when she could. Mailbox was always broken and wouldn't lock. The front door to my apartment locked me in several times because of the bolt being put in poorly or was always getting stuck but the ladies at the front desk didn't care. Had several packages that got delivered to the front desk and everytime I called nothing would be in or they couldn't find it. The only nice people at this complex are the maintenance guys! They do a wonderful job and are super friendly to talk too. They get the job done and when they see you out, they ask how everything is going.

  If I could give this negative stars, I would. Please, save yourself the horror and live somewhere else. First of all, we signed a lease to live in one apartment and move in on a certain day. They called 2 DAYS BEFORE to tell us we had to switch apartments because the original wasn't ready. Okay, fine whatever. Get the keys, open the door, and the floor is COVERED in bugs. I'm not talking a few, I mean the floor looked black. They told us they would completely clean everything before move in. But bugs were everywhere, dirt and gunk in the shower, a nasty smell. After spending 2 hours cleaning and making the place habitable, I decided it was nothing, and just moved on. Fast forward a few months, and things are breaking, and stuff I'm paying for isn't happening. We have to pay nearly 30 bucks a month for trash services, but I'm lucky if they actually take our trash. They're also supposed to spray for bugs once a month, and notify us when they will enter but I have NOT ONCE had a notice of entry for bug spray. So either I'm paying a fee for something not happening, or they're entering without permission. Also, the managers, especially the assistant manager, are incompetent, rude, disrespectful, and straight up clueless. When I tried to calmly and politely address an issue, I was yelled at and treated like a child. I was forced to act more professional than the assistant manager. Also, hope you don't have animals. If it's a cat and dog, be prepared to pay an UNGODLY amount for them. But if you have anything smaller in a cage, sorry bout ya. Banned. Also, the assistant manager was clueless enough to tell me, to my face, that I couldn't have a guinea pig because it could breed with a mouse since theyre both rodents. I don't know where she got her degree, but she clearly wasted her money. (And no, nothing in the lease states that "rodents" are banned). I guess I'm gonna go have half human half dolphin babies, because we're both mammals, so CLEARLY we can reproduce. Oh and also, "mammals" are banned. So that apparently means no humans, cats, or dogs?? The stupidity that happens is overwhelmingly high here. And I hope you like loud neighbors! The walls are basically paper, so that means you can hear all the yelling, screaming, running, sex, music, etc... and they will do nothing about it. If you're looking to be miserable and broke for the next 12 months, this is the place for you. But if you have any respect for yourself, you will live somewhere else. This place is WAY too overpriced for the crappy quality it is.
